I worked as a multimedia assistant to the producer doing both video and multimedia presentation especially large format multiple slide presentation and video wall. My customers are mainly Singapore Tourist Promotion Board in the asean region and I have to shuttle around when I am needed overseas. Other projects I have handled including Hour Glass PL product launching and Whirlpool PL Worldwide Live Broadcasting event. Here I learn all about video including editing, conversion, and sound recordings for broadcast. We are also involved in the Swing Singapore Celebrations for live broadcasting including video walls all around Orchard Road.
My first job after the army is to be a photographer’s assistant at First Photo Suppliers PL. Here I learn all the basics of both large and medium format cameras like the Hasselblad, Mamiya including the 35mm. I also learn about product shoots and landscape. Most important of all, it is the concepts of lighting and how to work with lighting equipments both indoor and outdoor. I also learn about the different film types and how to use them effectively for different kinds of shoot, including dark room processing.
Joined my friend Raymond Pek who is a DJ from Studio M and handled all the sound engineering requirements for our events. Had many contracts from People’s Associations and we were regularly doing social media parties for singles. Until 1 late night after a barbeque while returning home Raymond Pek died together with his mom when he fell asleep while driving in a car accident that hit the headlines along Braddell Road.
I started an event company when I was only 16 years of age organising parties and promotions for my clients with 4 of my partners. With the help of an auntie who tied us up with E & E Engineering Pte Ltd, we purchased Altec Lansing products to start our Mobile Disco. Business was brisk then because there was not much competition way back in the Eighties.
